Arrival

  • Provide a method for children to say hello to each other. For example, program a switch to say hello, and allow all members of the class to use the switch if they want to.
  • Provide a way for the child to express arrival ideas and needs such as, "Take my coat off please", "I rode the bus", and/or "It's a nice day today."


Departure

  • Provide the child with a method to.
      • Tell an adult that they need their coat.
      • Say "It's time to go home."
      • Say "Hello" to the bus driver.
      • Tell others "Goodbye" or "See you tomorrow."


Transitions

  • The child can activate a device to a recorded tape of a child or the teacher singing the cleanup song or providing the directions for the transition.
