    This beautifully illustrated book tells the story of a father and son going for a walk on the beach to watch the sunrise. The son is hearing impaired.
    Written for children ages 3 and up.

    This book explains the effects of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and how it can be handled in a very family and child friendly way. Written for children age 3 and up.


  • Stuve-bodeen, S. (1998). We’ll Paint the Octopus Red.Bethesda, MD: Woodbine House.

    Emma and her father discuss what they will do when the new baby arrives. When the baby is born with Down syndrome, they talk about what new things they might need to do (or not) with the baby. Written for children ages 3 and up.
