"Hello, I’m Nick. By looking at my portfolio I hope you will learn about me; who I am, what I can do, what my favorite activities are, how I work at school and so on. I’m sure teachers or anybody, who looks at my portfolio, will fall in love with me because I have the sweetest smile and a beautiful heart."

This is Nickolaus' portfolio. As of (December 7, 2001) he was almost 5 years old (4yrs:11months) and went to Raintree Montessori School for the full day program 5 days per week. Services that he receives include early childhood special education, occupational therapy, and speech/language therapy.

The purpose of the portfolio is to provide a record of his program plan, curriculum activities, and school experiences. I have been observing him and collecting data during the spring and the falling Fall semester of 200I. I put the date of when the information was collected on the first page of each section of the portfolio.

I hope this portfolio will be useful for understanding, helping, and working with Nickolaus. This is not only for the current teachers and related service providers, but also for his future teachers and other service providers. I also hope this portfolio will be seen as a beautiful childhood memory for Nickolaus and his family.
