How did you make the decision to have your child participate in the program?
We wanted to do the most we could for her, so she has been in the program since She was one.

How have you been able to give input into how your child's needs are met?
Through IEP meetings, or just discussing with one of the IEP team members.

Who are the ongoing participants on your child's IEP team?
Amy -Child care Kindergarten teacher; Susan - Physical therapist LPS; Kim -Occupational therapist LPS; Kindergarten Teacher.

How are you communicated with on a daily or weekly basis?
We are able to speak with the teachers briefly during pick-up time. The Center does send written notes home on a regular basis at intervals of the parent's choice.

How has the program benefited your child?
She wants to be like everyone else and gives it her "all". Since she is included with everyone else, it helps develop her self confidence and makes her feel more like someone without a disability.

Does your child have a special friend?
Yes - a couple.

What advice would you give to other parents in placing their children in inclusive programs?
Do it. Your child probably already knows they are different, and they will be happier to be involved with normal children. This way everyone is looking out for your child's best interest.

To what extent do you feel involved in the overall program?
I feel the therapists and teachers are really looking out for Andrea's best interest, but we see her every day and they are always willing to make changes with any input we have.

How do you feel your child is benefiting from the inclusive aspect of the program?
It makes her try harder. I never saw such a dedicated person with therapy and exercises at home. She is a very smart child and if she wasn't included with other healthy normal children, I don't think she'd be as happy as she is.

Have you had any concerns? If so, how have these concerns been addressed?
No, not really. The teachers and therapist are all very dedicated and keep us informed.
