Amy, from St.
Ben's Preschool replied:
I think by biggest concern was fear of the unknown. We did not have a
model for this program and we didn't know what it would or should look
like. We have continued to make modifications throughout the years and
change is always difficult. If we could have talked to other programs
prior to this, we might have known what some of the issues would be and
could have avoided those. The staff have to be committed to the idea and
understand why the program is moving towards inclusion. Without the staff's
support and willingness to try new things, the program would not work.
Lleana, from Raintree
replied:
Only that a bond of trust could be established with the adults as with
all parents. I had no concerns about the children.
Shirley, from Bright
Futures replied:
Blending of the program meant blending of the staff and doing this without
feelings of loss of identity were a big concern for me. Both programs
needed to feel that the children were gaining from this blend and not
losing.
Diane, from Bryan
replied:
I wasn't concerned. I looked at it as an exciting challenge and a way
to stretch out program and staff.
