I have inservice training as well as professionals educated and trained in the area of inclusion came and spoke to us. The experience of implementing IEP's in community settings has also helped in the preparation.

Nancy, from Barkley replied:
I have taught in Lincoln Public Schools for 15 years and have always included typically developing "peer models" in my classroom.

Pam, from Raintree replied:
I currently am a consultant for the State Department of Education, the Inclusive Network of Kansas. The focus is inclusion and resources for students with severe multiple disabilities. I have attended the Kansas Inservice Training System (KITS) summer institutes. On the job experience has also prepared me! I chose "inclusive practices in the preschool classroom" as one of the major emphases in my Master's program and did research in this area.

Paula, from Bright Futures replied:
I have received training and information from a variety of workshops and conferences. I also worked as a graduate assistant at KSU at the Early Childhood Laboratory (ECL) with the inclusive classrooms while doing my graduate work.

Renee, from White replied:
My first year in this position, we began the year with training to strengthen our teaming skills. Towards the end of the year, we had another workshop that supported our team processing skills and helped us look at the past year in order to improve on the next year.
Other positions held were:
Kindergarten Teacher with 4 SPED children included in my program.
Teacher of a 3 yr. old inclusion program at a daycare.
Inclusive 4 yr. old class in a regular ed. setting.
Resource teacher: LD- pullout program; K-5.

Sharon, from St. Ben's Infant/Toddler replied:
Numerous inservice programs and workshops, experience in inclusive classrooms for the past 10 years.

Tina, from St. Ben's Preschool replied:
Personality training, to identify each personality type represented in the room and what each person needs in order to function in this group. I have also had training in conflict resolution and lots of trials and tribulations.
